Two members of staff from The Sixth Form Bolton recently represented the college at Bett 2026 in London. Sarah Cooper, Teacher of Health & Social Care and Learning Technologist, and Curtis Scott, Teacher of Sports and Public Services and Learning Technologist, were delighted to attend the trailblazing EdTech event.
This was a significant moment for The Sixth Form and a major opportunity to showcase the outstanding digital practice taking place across the college. BETT provided a global platform to highlight how The Sixth Form’s staff and students are using iPads and core digital platforms to transform teaching and learning. The college received strong recognition from leading organisations and influencers within the digital education space, reinforcing our position as a forward-thinking and innovative provider. There is some genuinely exceptional practice happening across the college, and this event allowed us to celebrate and champion that work on a national and international stage.
Canva
The Sixth Form was one of only two schools and colleges invited to present on the Canva stand at BETT, a rare and prestigious opportunity. Our session focused on how we have successfully embedded Canva across the college and trained staff to use it effectively.
Sarah and Curtis showcased real classroom examples from Vocational Social Science, Maths, Sport Science, Science, and Childcare, demonstrating the breadth, creativity, and impact of digital resources being produced by our staff and students.
As Canva Ambassadors, they were also invited to exclusive training sessions and given early access to new features, with the opportunity to trial tools and provide direct feedback to Canva ahead of wider release.

Edpuzzle
Both Curtis and Sarah were invited to present on the Edpuzzle stand. Curtis shared how Edpuzzle has been strategically embedded across the college, the staff training model used, and how the new quizzing tool is already gaining traction with teaching staff.
Sarah focused on how we are developing student independence and ownership of learning through the new Edpuzzle feature, Student Projects, highlighting how staff are beginning to use this to empower learners across subject areas.

Showbie
In addition, we were invited to attend an exclusive Showbie event, where upcoming products and features were shared. These developments are set to further enhance teaching, learning, and digital workflows for both staff and students across the college. Alongside the product launch, we were asked to share our story with local schools who attended from Bolton, as well as other colleagues who had flown in from Finland. The work we are doing is truly going global!
This visit represents a fantastic opportunity for the college to continue shouting loudly about the incredible work happening here, and to reinforce our growing reputation as leaders in digital education.
Both Sarah and Curtis found it to be a hugely rewarding experience. Sarah said:
“It was my first time attending BETT and it was an incredible experience. Being able to showcase the amazing work our staff and students are doing across a range of platforms on a global stage was an honour, and the feedback received was overwhelmingly positive.”
Curtis said:
"BETT 2026 was an incredible experience! An inspiring celebration of innovation, creativity, and the power of shared vision. Being surrounded by like‑minded educators and digital pioneers who are shaping the future of learning was truly energising. Seeing The Sixth Form’s name in lights at one of the world’s leading technology events is a moment of real pride. It reinforces that we are not only embracing change but actively preparing our students for their next steps in an ever‑evolving digital world and workplace."
We’d like to thank everyone at Bett, Canva, Edpuzzle and Showbie for inviting us to contribute to this trailblazing event and we look forward to embedding some of the key takeaways within our practice at The Sixth Form.
